The Center for Adolescent Research in Schools (CARS)
Funded by The Institute of Education Services
The Center for Adolescent Research in Schools (CARS) is a national research center funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES). The purpose of our work is to develop and evaluate school based interventions for high school students who are in special education due to emotional or behavior problems. The principal investigators for this study are Dr. Steven Evans (Ohio University), Dr. Lee Kern (Lehigh University) and Dr. Timothy Lewis (University of Missouri). In addition, there are investigators from three other universities involved in the work. See the center’s web page for additional information.
The majority of the work on this project at Ohio University is focused on the development and evaluation of the mental health interventions that are being provided by the school based mental health professionals.
